We kick off the 2010 – 2011 season with a concert featuring music by three real, live American composers:  Dominick Argento, Carol Barnett and Eric Ewazen.  Our special guest, soprano Maria Jette, joins MSC for Argento’s lovely and lyrical Elizabethan Songs as well as songs for soprano and oboe based on the poems of William Blake. Active on concert and opera stages both local and national, Maria is also a frequent guest on Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion. This mostly American program also includes Samuel Barber’s beloved “Adagio for Strings” in its original string quartet setting.  Join us! You’ll be among friends!
